Goofy April Fools! Try out your marathon skating at Walt Disney World's fifth annual Inline Marathon in Florida, April 1st 2007.

If you skate regularly but haven't yet taken part in an inline race, I imagine this would be a good one to start with, since Florida is flat. I haven't done this event yet but would love to. As long as you're over 13 years old, and can skate over 7 mph, you're eligible. There is a separate event for children under 13.

At this point, the price for the full marathon is $80.

If you've never taken part in an official inline skate race, then why not take the plunge? I will try to post here about events (at least in the Southeastern US - and others from other areas, please do post about your local events, too!). It can give your training a whole lot more purpose if you've signed up for a race and have the deadline dangling in front of you. My training is far from technical, but I get a lot more out of it with shorter goals, rather than training solely for one big event, 8 months away.

This is an event I have

This is an event I have always wanted to do since i heard about it.  Maybe next year.  I don't think it will take much convincing to my wife and daughter to go to that one, as I think Bobbi may be one of Walt Disney Worlds biggest fans.  I think its worth the money to go too.  I have never had a bad experience at Disney.  Even if you have to pay that unreal amount just to get in the park.
