These photos are from the 2007 Assault on Mt. Mitchell which I did not skate,
but attended with my camera and a cooler full of various restorative fluids and
and foods with various balances of carbs, protein and yes, even fat, for a rider
completing the epic event from Spartanburg SC through Marion NC to the parking lot
very near the summit of Mt. Mitchell, which at 6684 feet elevation, is the highest point
east of the Mississippi. The ride is 102 miles and 11,000 feet of elevation gain!
The photos are time-coded (in YYMMDDHHmmSS format). The photo taken at 12:35:44
shows the clock at 6:00:34, so subtract 6:35:10 from the photo time code to get
event clock time.
