Bicycle Toy & Hobby Sales in High Point, North Carolina has become the
defacto final training ride and inline skate of each season, and they are one of
the sponsoring shops that really put in the effort and expense to provide over-abundant
support on the road and at the shop. The route spends some time getting out of and
back into the city, but on roads that are made to handle the situation well. The
rest stops had more than enough and a nice variety of items, and they were open for
all, not just the fastest. Thanks as ever to the volunteers and staff who took care
of a large crowd of cyclists eager to get their final official training ride in
and get their packets for the Tour to Tanglewood in advance. A big thanks to
Bicycle Toy & Hobby Sales for being a sponsor and for understanding that when
people ask the hundreds of folk who do the Tour where there's a great bike shop,
we're going to mention the ones who took care of the riders and skaters best,
and gave the tour's awesome staff and volunteers the support they needed to offer
a safe, fun, challenging, well-marked, well-supported route and a nice full morning
of getting to know everyone, especially first-timers, before the big day. All of
this wouldn't be possible without the Horneytown Fire Department and the
Abbots Creek Missionary Baptist Church generously and patiently providing their
locations to host rest stops. Thanks again to all, and of course to the skaters
who came out to skate with Roadskater.net, and those who wished us well from afar!
