We had five roadskaters for the Paceline Bicycles Greensboro training ride,
and as always the cyclists and tour volunteers and staff treated us very well.
The route was similar to years past, and it was a nice one with limited moderate
gatorback. The Paceline Bicycles Greensboro folk did a great job of everything, making
us very welcome. This skride has only one relatively minor technical challenge if paying
attention; but if you miss the right onto Planefield you'll have some climing to get back,
or will end up off course catching back up on Air Harbor, perhaps. Other than that,
it's a nice rolling course that works very well to help get ready for the Tour to
Tanglewood full event. Anyone who can do the tour can do this one much more easily
as it is shorter. The rest stop was a Philadelphia Baptist Church where we started
off on the 48-mile Roadskater.net team Hannah and Her Skaters first day T2T replacement
skate last year. There were a lot of left turns on this route and I mentioned that at the
store when we got back, but really they went the best way for those roads I think. We'd
like there to be options in the mid-to-upper-30s in terms of miles, but training skrides
seem to be getting shorter in distance, probably because of the time and resources needed
to provide quality SAG and rest stop support. As ever, it was over before we wished it were.
