We had only two roadskaters for the Paceline Bicycles Winston-Salem training ride,
but we still had a great time with the cyclists and tour volunteers and staff. As
always, Paceline Bicycles Winston-Salem did a great job with hosting the training ride
and inline skate. The route was the same as in recent years, with a touch of gatorback
but nothing really bad, and it seems to have smoothed a bit over the years. This skride
has no real technical challenges except for good braking skills, mainly for the traffic
lights, especially at the Hess station returning to Winston-Salem from Lewisville.
It's a nice route and anyone who can do the tour can do this one, no worries. As usual,
the rest stop at the shop and one on the road were awesome. For the long route, we also
stopped at the Citgo station on the route. We skated about 35 miles and had a fine day of sunny sweat.
