Since the State Games of North Carolina bike events (mountain biking and
road cycling criterium) were held in Greensboro Country Park in 2007, I
had the chance to watch some of the racing. I didn't make the mountain biking
event because I was skating that day on the American Tobacco Trail in Durham, NC.
I also missed the morning events, which means I did not get to see any of the women's competition,
but I managed to get out for the afternoon cat 1/2/3, cat 4, cat 5 and
some of the other categories. As I heard it, the champion in cat 1/2/3 was 55+
years of age. It was a nice sunny afternoon with temperatures from 84 to 86
degrees with calm winds of seven to nine mph. The State Games of NC are coming
back to Greensboro in 2008, so let's spread the word and make sure to be there.
