Tour de Tammy 2008 was great and they treated us like gold all day. We signed up
thinking we'd do the 30 mile version, but after talking with the directors, they
stressed that we should do as much as we wanted. We let them know we didn't want
to be any problem and they said no worries. We made our decision at the last possible
moment and with all the smooth pavement to that point, we went for it. The rest
stops were sometimes packed up when we arrived but the people were there and very
helpful and encouraging. We got to use the drink powder to make our own mix and
that truly rocked. When we finished it was like a catered party for two tired and
happy skaters, and the Carter Brothers barbecued chicken, baked beans and more
were awesome indeed! Along with Tour de Lions and Tour de Kale, Tour de Tammy is
a local ride you need to plan for in 2009...along with the Tour to Tanglewood, of course.
