Skater Felt Burning Sensation in Her Chest: After Several Coronary Microvascular Disease Heart Attacks, Skates Five Days a Week

Even if you feel healthy and are active, this skater's story points out that it's important to know and pay attention to symptoms, then to seek attention when you feel an out of the ordinary pain or discomfort. Then after an initial diagnosis, when pain returns, get more diagnosis! At a time when I let a lot of things keep me from going skating, this woman is an inspiration to exercise and to seek help if I feel similar symptoms. Other brief stories here tell how others have faced their heart attacks.

Oscars for 2008 (81st) Nominations, Awards and Contest to Prove How We Are NOT the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences

Having missed my old workmate and friend, Tom's, Oscar Contest, but being movie mavens at least for a few weeks of the year, eebee and I devised our own scoring system and made up a liitle contest for ourselves. We had a private viewing and voting for the Oscars, and of course, made a public spreadsheet.Herein lies the story of the nominations, awards, our predictions and wishes, and the insignificant result. We would have failed, but we're OK with that.

The Floyd Landis Saga Continues...

Just when you thought it was all over...

http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/cycling/news/story?id=3611019

Floyd Landis is back, this time taking his case to the US courts.  The article points our that this is probably pointless, since the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) is a Swiss body...  As far as I know, our courts don't have any jurisdiction there...  Not yet, anyway...  ;-)
