No Recovery Necessary? Hypothyroid Ultra-Cardio Training While Eating a Paleo, Primal, Wheat-Free Diet.

Immediate disclaimers:

I don't consider myself on a 'diet'. I just put that in title.

I'm not 100% sugar-, corn- or potato-free, and those foods don't fall under Paleo or Primal. I also eat dairy: cheese, eggs, milk, butter.

I wanted to write a follow up to my previous posts about my long-term dietary changes and how they are affecting my ultra-cardio lifestyle. Sorry, but I love to skate! All day if possible! It makes me nice! We're not gunning it the whole time so it's all perfectly doable without too much physical depletion.

This is the kick in the too-tight skate pants that I needed, to give my skating some relevance and scale again this year. The MS Society has posted the training ride dates for the Summer:

Tour to Tanglewood 2007 Bike Skate Photos

The 2007 Tour to Tanglewood was my ninth, all on skates, all including both days. The Roadskater.net team was 36 members, 18 on skates, from NC, GA, MI, NJ and NJ (born in USA, Canada, Netherlands and UK). We were missing a few regulars because of the North Shore Inline Marathon in Duluth, MN and for other reasons. I hope you like the 420 photos that made it through editing!

Recollections of Tour to Tanglewood 2007

Tour to Tanglewood was a blast this year. Full of friends, skating, tornadoes, sun, hills, cookies, purple, wind, missing luggage, canceled flights, and gloriously bad singing.

After the 6 Tour to Tanglewoods I have been fortunate enough to skate in, the whole gathering to me is starting to resemble a huge family of 1,500, and growing every year. Each part of the weekend brings its own joy:

Tour to Tanglewood Roadskater.net Update August 27 2007

Hi all. Life takes over sometimes, eh? Well with a little less than 3 weeks to go before Tour to Tanglewood 2007 we heard that 1300 riders and skaters are registered already. As for our team, we are up to 24 members with more surely about to sign up. Some of us even have some contributions turned in, and we have two clear leaders in the contest. This includes just items turned in to the website or office already, and is not indicative of donations many have received directly. Still to give some kudos and encouragement, here are the donations we have so far on the website:

Tanglewood 2007

Hey Skatey gang.

Greetings from San Diego!

How are things going?  How is everybody doing?  I got an email on the Tour to Tanglewood and decided to say Hi to the gang and to wish you all lots of fun.  I haven't skated since last October.  I have pretty much moved on to rowing (crew) which is really cool and lots of fun, not that skating wasn't.  It's great to be out on the water though.

Anyways, have fun at the Tour.

Melanie
