Clemmons Bicycle 2007 Tour to Tanglewood TR Bike Ride Inline Skate Photos

As I've often said, the Clemmons Bicycle T2T TR route in the mid-30-mile range is my favorite, and this year I'd say that is still true, despite some nice routes at other shops. So when the weather turned out cooler it looked like another relatively easy day compared with what might have been. This summer we've been very lucky at least three times, maybe four (Tour de Lions, Tour de Kale, Cycles de Oro T2T TR and Clemmons Bicycle T2T TR), to have unseasonably cool temperatures.

Tour to Tanglewood 2007 Clemmons Bicycle Training Ride

This past Saturday's Tour to Tanglewood training ride was hosted by Clemmons Bicycle. As in previous years, the route was beautiful, hilly with great pavement, limited congestion and a couple of fun, long downhills (Darwick Road and Fraternity Church Road).

Tour to Tanglewood Report

This year's Tour to Tanglewood was as good as any other year.  Everyone that participated seemed to have a good time.  It was nice seeing past participants, as well as meeting people doing the Tour for the first time.  Friday night, a small group got together for a social skate, then most of the RSN team met at Lucky32 for dinner.  (Good food, but not enough carbs for a pre-event dinner IMHO.)  Blake gave his usual pep-talk in the parking lot after dinner, and then we went to our hotel rooms for some much needed sleep.  Dave & I were sharing a room, and I had the alarm set for 5:45 am (ugh) to give us time to get ready and get over to Volvo.  We left the Days Inn around 6:30 I think, along with Jay, who was also staying there.  Susan, Richard, and Shirley weren't far behind us.  Check-in at Volvo was super-smooth as usual.  I filled the Camelbak with water and ate some granola bars & fig newtons.  The team photo was at 7:20, and the century (100 mile) ride started at 7:30, so there was just enough time for Dave, Tom, & I to get to the starting line for that after the picture was taken.

Tour to Tanglewood 2005 Awards Ceremony

Here's my report from the 2005 Tour to Tanglewood Awards Ceremony, which I hope will inspire us, now that the skating and cycling for 2006's Tour is done, to look at what we can do from now until our donations are due.
