Inline Skating Bavaria (Karlstein Bayern Deutschland) Pete Yorn Precious Stone Keith Richard Open G Guitar Tuning DADGAD Eagles

OK I found this on the Roadskater.net news sidebar. This is just a quick one that mentions inline skating in Germany. If you want to be more miserable, check out the view from the mountain, the inside of the salt mine, and the inline skating on country roads in the forest. Yowee. Sweet views. Makes me miss those NC mountains, too, though they are older and more rounded, in general. Of course, I'd like it if dude would wear a helmet, but I am happy to have someone showing some skating as part of the highlights of visiting a region.

Athens to Atlanta 2010 Roadskater’s Report: Always an Epic Struggle Before During and After A2A

We passed a church about 20 miles in, whose sign spoke brilliantly for the day and our group taking the epic journey: THE HARVEST IS RIPE. BUT THE NUMBERS ARE FEW. What joy in seeing our friends...if for sweet bright flashes only...what flickering sadness in those not there...with a breath cloud of sorrow for some we never quite had time to closely know, who can never be with us again, mixed with happiness to be so lucky to miss them.

A2A 2010. Shoulda Woulda Coulda! Eebee's Athens to Atlanta Roadskate Inline Skate Report

For the majority of my past eleven A2As, I have set the goal of enjoying those bizarre 87 miles, to skate to the finish line happily and healthily, and never to be the paceline charity case. This year I fell far short of those ideals.

Eleven Fluffy Reasons to Sort of Consider These Seven Dorky Sports: Inline Skating Beats Hula Hooping

OK I made the 11 number up, and it is just to mock all the titles on health.com and so many websites, including this one sometimes, ha!

Did I say dorky? Why yes, I did, but I only meant that this is how rowlurblayding (rollerblading for you search engines out there) is presented in the little media coverage we get (except maybe that for the Northshore Inline Marathon, which seems to get great, serious, fun stories each year).

Here's a little fluff mentioned on the Pegasus Flyers inline skating (roadskating) list:

Skating the Full Silver Comet and Chief Ladiga Trail Again: 94 Miles of Hot Fun in Georgia and Alabama

Driving down from North Carolina late at night, I asked eebee to post a note to the APRR (Atlanta Peachtree Road Rollers) list inviting people to join us for a long slow distance skate the next day, or perhaps the day after. We had earlier this year done our favorite 62-miler from Mile 0 near Nickajack Elementary School to mile 31 at Brushy Mountain Tunnel and back.

Inline Skating 300 Miles in 24 Hours for Three Charities: Please sponsor me!

[I posted this (with minor edits) for ShabbatSam who is making his way to Canada as I type. If you found it here and decided to donate, please let ShabbatSam know RSN sent you. No we don't get anything but skateylove out of it if you mention us...and that's plenty. Congratulations in advance, ShabbatSam, for your effort. We have at least one Roadskater.net skater, SkateyMark, who will be intensely interested in your progress. --Roadskater]

Challenge of the Centuries 2010 Charity Bike Ride Skate Report

Sooo, I was the lonely only skater at the Challenge of the Centuries.  And that was fine because it left all the comments of “what you are doing is amazing” all for myself.  Ha!  No, the bikers where great there, and even the traffic was very considerate.  I had a good time talking to people, and felt very welcome.  I almost brought my camera on the road with me, and now regret I didn’t.  So many cool things.  And so many lessons learned.

Inline Skating 62 miles on the Silver Comet Trail: Rollerblading 100K (Metric Century) on Rail Trail to Brushy Mountain Tunnel

After some celebrations earlier in the week and some skating (including one day that was slow and not such great fun due to some exhaustion and burnout), we decided to get some rest and plan a long day out on the Silver Comet Trail outside Atlanta, near Smyrna, GA. We put out the word late as usual, and got regrets from TomB and JonK but had our plan and perhaps some company.
