Hi and welcome! AthensToAtlanta.com is a special part of Roadskater.net for anyone who loves, or thinks they might want to try, the grandaddy open road ultramarathon skate in the USA, the 87-mile Athens to Atlanta roadskate. It's not a substitute for the a2a.net site, but a companion guide!
Hi everyone! Due to the multitude of schedule conflicts around the
original date for my workshop, it ended up not happening. So... I
want to gauge the interest of all the skaters out there and see if
there are enough people that would attend a workshop, should I decide
to put one together.
Welcome to the Roadskater.net Athens to Atlanta A2A Book. You can be part of this project if you would like, adding your stories from the road to the History Project, advice on training to the Training Guide, and hints for survival or other glory to the Strategy Guide.

This was announced some time ago on InlineNC - just thought I would remind everyone about it...
There is a "recruting challenge" underway for this year's Tour to Tanglewood. Prizes will go to the people that recruit the most new cyclists or skaters to the Roadskater.Net team. The prizes aren't anything life changing, just some small fun things. The number of prizes has not been determined yet (I may add more as I think of some, or come across some) but there are at least four right now, and probably will be more...

So I'll be the first to admit I have a skate fetish... I have many, many pairs of skates from rec skates to off road skates to, of course, my speed skated. And there are many, many parts I have laying around for those -- Just about any configuration could be put together... I started getting curious about quad skates a few years ago, thinking it would be cool to have a pair to play around with -- after all, A2A started out as a quad event!
Here's a guide to help you get from the ATL airport to your hotels in Atlanta and Athens, with comments from people who've done what you're attempting. We hope to have public transportation included, as well as bus, taxi and other options.
