Tirreno-Adriatico Pro Cycling Stage Race Final Stages Good Stuff!

This is converted from some earlier comments started here (Shani Davis Wins Silver and Gold in Speed Skating World Championships; Tyler Farrar leads Tirreno-Adriatico Cycling Stage Race). Now I'm remembering how much I like this one. The Tour de France is huge and flashy and comfy in ways, with better roads and more everything. This is a great alternative to Tour de France, and it appears some teams are splitting their efforts or choosing between Tirreno-Adriatico and Paris-Nice (another fun one to follow).

First, if you're going to just watch a few minutes, here's the finish of Stage 5, the last 7.7km, which are great fun to watch, with a breakaway, small chase breakaway, some major riders dropped, and some major riders in a chasing peleton. Check it out...

David Millar: Say It Ain't So, Vino (Alexandre Vinokourov); plus Michael Rasmussen, Floyd, Lance

As timv has noted, David Millar can spin a yarn nicely in his TdF Diaries. As a doper who had done his time, he's uniquely qualified to share several perspectives. And he was there for his own "Say it ain't so, Joe" moment when Vino's non-negative was first announced. I'll leave most of the piece for you to read on the Bicycling site, but here's a brief sample of that moment:
