Isn't the point of the cheat meal that there are no rules? It's the payoff after many hard days of eating clean, right?&nbsp; In the second visit with my nutrition coach, I learned that the wrong cheat meal can throw off your diet for a few days, beginning the downward spiral in the dieter's trifecta -- self doubt, self loathing and depression. The good news is that you have a lot of latitude with cheat meals, and your body and your scale will guide you. The cheat meal has two purposes -- to replenish glycogen stores and to trick your metabolism. And, the harder you train in the days before your cheat meal, the more latitute you have in food choices. At least this is the way I understand it. If you are really carb depleting, the right cheat meal will register a loss of one or two pounds on the scale next morning. A good cheat meal won't move the scale at all the next morning. </p> <P>My first cheat meal -- after 8 days on the diet -- was a real blowout.</p><p><a href="" target="_blank">read more</a></p> cheat meal cycling diet fitness roadcycling Sun, 14 Aug 2011 23:09:39 +0000 RSNBiker 1367 at Portage Park 'n' Roll Inline Skating Speed, Artistic, Derby Roller Girls, DJ Quad Skate Jam and Cookie Festival with Music, Races, Bake-Off, Fun to Benefit Bike & Hike Trails <div class="event-nodeapi"> <div class="event-start dtstart" title="2011-09-24T12:00:00Z"><label>Start: </label> 2011.09.24 8:00 am </div> </div> <div class="event-nodeapi"> <div class="event-end dtend" title="2011-09-24T18:00:00Z"><label>End: </label> 2011.09.24 2:00 pm </div> </div> <div class="event-nodeapi"> <div class="event-tz"><label>Timezone: </label>America/New York </div> </div> <div class="event-nodeapi"> <div class="event-start dtstart" title="2011-09-24T12:00:00Z"><label>Start: </label> 2011.09.24 8:00 am </div> </div> <div class="event-nodeapi"> <div class="event-end dtend" title="2011-09-24T18:00:00Z"><label>End: </label> 2011.09.24 2:00 pm </div> </div> <div class="event-nodeapi"> <div class="event-tz"><label>Timezone: </label>America/New York </div> </div> SKATING AND COOKIE FESTIVAL<BR /> DATE: September 24, 2011<BR /> REGISTRATION FOR SKATE: 8:00<BR /> SKATE TIME: 9:00<BR /> REGISTRATION FOR COOKIE BAKE OFF: 9:05<BR /> COOKIE BAKE-OFF JUDGING AT APPROX 10:00<BR /> LOCATION: Dix Stadium (KSU), Summit Street in Kent, Ohio (Portage County)<BR /> SKATE CHALLENGE REGISTRATION FEE: $35, COOKIE BAKE-OFF: FREE AND OPEN TO PUBLIC<BR /> <BR /> ****FREE GIFTS TO THE FIRST 50 SKATERS REGISTERED!!!****<BR /> Our athletes are protected by FinishSafeTM <BR /> <BR /> SEE <a href="http://WWW.PORTAGESKATES.INFO" title="WWW.PORTAGESKATES.INFO">WWW.PORTAGESKATES.INFO</a> FOR FULL DETAILS <BR /> <BR /> This is your chance to own the campus! Yesterday ended badly and yesterday’s headache is still with me. There was no way I was going to miss the ride hosted by my favorite bike shop, Cycles de Oro. I prepared for the ride with a decent night’s sleep and a protein shake packed with oats and almond milk. I rode with two full water bottles, each containing a small scoop of Shaklee Performance, and my last pack of GU. Distance choices were 10, 20 and 36.
