Any paved/skate trails in Spartanburg/Gaffney/Greenville areas?

Does anybody know of any? I tried sctrails.net, which is very informative, just very inconsistent regarding info on whether the trails are actually paved or not. I also tried many, many other places-to-skate type websites, SC trail websites etc. So now I'm specifically asking for anything anybody out there actually either GOES to or KNOWS about regarding places to skate in or near Gaffney, Spartanburg or Greenville - i.e. a really long, paved trail, or skater-friendly roadroute.

Global Warming: If you can't Beat it, Skate it!

Alright, it's shaping up to be a fantastic weekend in the South, weatherwise. Temps up to 85 Deg F in the Atl., and Raleigh might see 80 on Saturday. Although there may be rain for New England and the mid-Atlantic states, Lansing should be a balmy 60 :-).

Recumbent Exercise Bike Better for Me than Bike Trainer

I recently purchased a recumbent exercise bike to ride after my daughter goes to bed, as it is hard to get out as much as i would like with a 2.5 year old.  Its nothing fancy, a Proform XP110 from Sears.  I had a magnetic trainer for my road bike, but it's noisy and it just feels unnatural to be in that position on a normal road bike and not move for 30 minutes to an hour.

It's Spring! Go Skate!

Here's a question for anybody experiencing somewhat warmer Spring weather (since it's all relative and the Northerners probably consider 50 deg F to be warm, while some of us wimpy Southerners won't skate below 65 Deg F) - what are you all doing, skate- and training-wise? Are you doing short laps around your local park or have you already embarked on full-fledged roadskates? Did you spend all winter chasing indoor skaters? Please let me know what you're doing, I'd love to know.

Human-Powered Circumnavigation by Pedalboat, Bike & Inline Skates (Rollerblades)

I'm so glad someone is living some of our dreams for us as we live some of theirs for them!

Jason Lewis is a British trekster (supertrekker some say) who has spent part (all?) of the last 13 years circling the earth by pedalboat, bike and inline skates, often joined by a friend on his journey. It seems the goal is to use neither wind nor motors in his quest.

InlineCafe: Storm in a Teacup, Hail, Lightning, Tornadoes, El Niño

Exciting stuff! This fun NASA article by Dr. Tony Phillips, highlights a 3 year study performed by the National Space Science & Technology Center in Huntsville, AL, about the correlation between lightning formation and ice content of clouds. Not a new theory, but I don't think it had been tested before.

Tour to Tanglewood 2005 Awards Ceremony

Here's my report from the 2005 Tour to Tanglewood Awards Ceremony, which I hope will inspire us, now that the skating and cycling for 2006's Tour is done, to look at what we can do from now until our donations are due.
