2008 Tour To Tanglewood for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Training Bike Ride Inline Skate Dates

andrewinnc's picture

The training rides for "Tour to Tanglewood" are about to begin in a couple of weeks. These rides are all well supported, generous rest-stops, sag wagons, and of course great people. It is a good way to hone your skating or biking skills depending on your particular preference, and you are supporting a great cause and helping people who can't skate/ride like we can.

Below is a list of upcoming rides from the National MS Societies web site listing the events. Mark you calenders and come out and meet some wonderful people in our community.

Let's Ride
The Bike MS: BB&T Tour to Tanglewood 2008 Ride is an unforgettable, two-day journey through parts of Guilford, Forsyth and Davidson Counties. More than 1,500 cyclists ride along a scenic rural route ranging from 20 to 140 miles. The Ride has raised over $1 million in each of the last three years.

Cyclists begin on Saturday, September 6 in Greensboro and ride 45-miles of beautiful scenery to end the day at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons. Once there, cyclists enjoy live music, food, fun and fellowship.

On Sunday, September 7 cyclists ride from Tanglewood Park back to Greensboro and cross the victorious finish line.

Training Rides help cyclists train each saturday during the summer beginning June 21. Fundraising materials help cyclists raise money to fight MS as soon as they register.

T2T training rides

Thanks for posting the training ride dates in one place Andy. I'm looking forward to hanging out in a post-training-ride daze wearing strange clothes (skate shorts & jersey) in a Starbucks, knowing I've earned some rich food from that morning's 30 mile skate.

T2T training rides

Thanks Elizabeth. I thought maybe if everyone who comes to roadskater saw the list they might be able to mark their calenders. Maybe we can increase skater presence at the training rides. I always enjoyed them as my long skate for the week. They were much better supported than I could for myself. Starbucks sounds great!

t2t trainers

Thanks Andy, I had no idea there were so many training events. Maybe TdK would be cool for 6/21? And then other t2t trainers for later weekends? your list is excellent info. come H-E double hockey sticks, or high water, we'll meet and skate together.

Lots of training rides.

Your welcome Mike. I skated in a lot of them last year with Blake and others. They were ALL well supported and the courses were very well thought out. It was kind of cool to see the cops stopping traffic so we could go through some intersections. I look forward to skating with you.
