37th Athens to Atlanta Road Skate (A2A.net) in Georgia, USA Oct 14, 2018

From their website, a2a.net, which has lots of information under "TELL ME MORE":

Athens to Atlanta (A2A) is the oldest and most famous road skate in America. Starting in Athens, Georgia, participants skate through beautiful country roads and quiet suburbia before navigating city streets and triumphantly crossing the finish line in Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward Skate Park. The course is challenging and requires experienced road skating ability, courage and stamina. Skaters who may not be ready for the whole 87 miles may opt for the 38-mile event, which also starts in Athens, or the 49-mile event, which starts near Dacula, GA. Inline and quad skaters are welcome and anyone from 8 to 80 years old may enter.

Roadskater.net inline skaters have skated A2A as many as 20 times. Familiar names can be found on the A2A Duraskaters (Distance) records page.

Athens to Atlanta A2A 2012 87-Mile (also 52, 38) Roadskate (Inline Skating/Rollerblading/Quad Skating Event)

We've been doing the Athens to Atlanta roadskate since 1999, and it helps us get out and skate all year, knowing we need to be ready to skate 87 miles in early October. If you're interested in rolling, it's not too late. Check A2A.net.

Athens to Atlanta A2A 2009 87-Mile Inline/Roller Road Skate in Georgia plus 38- and 52-Mile Routes

There's so much to say about Athens to Atlanta, but suffice it to say some of us are totally crazy about this event. We've participated since 1999, including the unofficial versions in 2005.

Our 9th official skating of the 87-mile Athens to Atlanta Roadskate (not including two unofficial traverses in 2005) was on a warm and sunny day one might have expected a month or so earlier. I knew I'd be feeling the muscle cramps in my quads eventually but that didn't stop me from being overly excited at some points early on.

Come join us for the grandskatey of them all, the Athens to Atlanta Roadskate from Athens Georgia to Atlanta GA. I'm a bit late putting this one on the schedule, ha, so I'll keep it short! We'll miss you if you're not there and be glad to see you if you are!

Athens to Atlanta Roadskate (A2A Skate): Total Ascent, Elevation Gain; Barometric or GPS Data?

Does anybody have the total ascent or elevation gain for the 87 mile Athens-to-Atlanta (A2A) course kicking around somewhere in their GPS or training files? I have googled all sorts of term combos, as well as searched this site. Blake's A2A mapmyride entry shows highest & lowest elevation but doesn't add it up for me :-). I'm feeling a bit fuzzy headed today so it's entirely possible I overlooked it, but please post that figure if you have it!
